The two monitors are very similar. However, with the slightly larger price tag of the 239 comes the IPS display. While both screens have the same resolution, IPS technology resolves the issue of very limited viewing angle that can appear with non IPS displays, as well as improving color reproduction (i.e. the screen appears more vivid and closer to actual coloration). The 239 states that it has a 178 degree viewing angle, where color and shape of the image is lost even when looking at different angles. I can attest to this, as my display can be viewed from all over with the same great color reproduction. Hope my answer helped!

I Love it! (Pictures included)Purchased on 5/31, Arrived 6/09. (9 Days) was free shipping over $49.-Box arrived undamaged.Upon opening the box, it had all components. Nicely individually wrapped. It included-Stand-Monitor-Power cable-DVI cable-VGA cable-ASUS VIP Member Notice-Quick Start Guide.After taking everything out of the box it was EXTREMELY easy to assemble. I cant stress that enough, a 12 year old could figure it out. The cords had caps on them to prevent dust and bending of the pins but again were simple to take off.On the back of the monitor, it had-HDMI port-DVI port-VGA port-3.5mm audio port. (Needs input from HDMI cable)After putting it all together, the final product was beautiful.-It worked perfectly!-There were no dead pixels.-The colors were vibrant.-The images and letters were sharp.-The picture is just amazing.-The quality is outstanding.It was just perfect. I LOVE this product and Im 100% completely satisfied with my purchase.
